Pick a Purple borderline state and a moderate “conservative” (rino) and or pro-Amnesty. That will be our man or women.

It’s going to be Jindal. I’d be willing to be your house on it.

I like Pawlenty, but he isn’t going to generate any votes for Romney.

One thing to consider is that it would be impolite/impolitic for Pawlenty not to be mentioned in the Veepstakes, from both Mittens' and Pawlenty's pov. I despise kabuki but this is what it is. I still say it's Rubio.

Confidence by conservatives (in Romney) already teeter-totters on the “anybody but Obama” precipice, but if he doesn’t pick a strong conservative for VP, I’m afraid he’s wasted a lot of doners’ money as patriots will just remove the clothespins from their noses and stay home on election.

As Romney seems determined to morph into John McCain, coupled with the vote “engineering” of the Obama crowd, we’ll have a front row seat to the demise of America.

Romney is not a fighter. He doesn’t have the savvy to keep an ace up his sleeve.

IMHO, he can overcome the Bain Capital thing, and the tax return reluctance, but the wrong choice for VP will do him in.

Col. West for VP would be a master stroke, but I won’t hold my breath, because West is not a RINO.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Romney camp is secretly courting Hillary for VP.

He needs excitement and minority votes, and someone who can articulate the difference between liberty and slavery to government.

"Competent," considering the prior qualifications and record of the current occupant, would be anyone who could run a small business successfully enough to retain emplyees. (Sarc.)

Portman is acceptable on many issues, but he has glaring weaknesses on immigration. He’s WAYYYYY too soft on that subject. To wit (per www.ontheissues.org):

Subject: Illegals earn citizenship

Policy position: Supports (!!!!!!)
Rated 0% by FAIR, indicating a voting record loosening immigration.
Supports Granting amnesty to illegal immigrants(!!!!!!)
Supports Full implementation of current border security laws.
YES on more immigrant visas for skilled workers.
YES on extending Immigrant Residency rules.
NO on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment(!!!!!)

Ronald Reagan himself as a candidate cannot make up for the fact that we are going to have a non Conservative, weak, indecisive, non prinicipled disaster at the top of the ticket.

Jindal simply isn’t eligible. A fairly strong case can be made for Rubio, but there is no case that can be made for Jindal being a natural born citizen.

His folks came to America on student visas and not as approved immigrants.

His mother was, in fact, ALREADY pregnant with him when they arrived, and he was born a few short months afterwards.

Since it takes a number of years even to receive one’s citzenship, there is no way that they could have sought out citizenship and had the residency requirement prior to his birth.

IOW, his parents were the subjects of India when they arrived, when he was born, and for some time afterwards, probably up into his elementary years.

In short, Jindal was born a citizen of India to parents who were citizens of India who were simply studying in the USA. If “natural born citizen” means this, then it is simply a useless requirement, because it can mean anything.
