Jindal simply isn’t eligible. A fairly strong case can be made for Rubio, but there is no case that can be made for Jindal being a natural born citizen.

His folks came to America on student visas and not as approved immigrants.

His mother was, in fact, ALREADY pregnant with him when they arrived, and he was born a few short months afterwards.

Since it takes a number of years even to receive one’s citzenship, there is no way that they could have sought out citizenship and had the residency requirement prior to his birth.

IOW, his parents were the subjects of India when they arrived, when he was born, and for some time afterwards, probably up into his elementary years.

In short, Jindal was born a citizen of India to parents who were citizens of India who were simply studying in the USA. If “natural born citizen” means this, then it is simply a useless requirement, because it can mean anything.

I love how out-of-touch Team Romney is with the grassroots.
Pawlenty is going to solve his problem with the base, Conservatives, and Tea Partiers?

What a joke!

He’s a Romney stooge. Picking Pawlenty would be a big thumb-in-the-eye to the base. It’s like Gaston picking LeFool, or Jafar picking Iago. Mitt might as well pick one of his brothers.

You’ve got Jindal, Ryan, Gingrich, Rubio, Palin (Yes, I know, no chance), among others, available. Why do we keep hearing about moderate squishes who’ve wagged their fingers at the base (Pawlenty), Social Progressives (Rice), and their ilk? Does Team Romney thin the problem is that the ticket is already too Conservative?

“Tim Pawlenty” and “energetic” do not belong in the same sentence.

Having voted for Susana Martinez in both the primary and general election I can safely say Mitt Romney would do far better with Virginia’s Bob McDonnell.

Susana is in the middle of her first term as Governor, New Mexico needs her to say anther 2 years at least. She is also not nearly as conservative as Virginia’s Bob McDonnell.
