Local media report that two gunmen went on the rampage, both wearing gas masks. One of the gunmen is now in custody, and police are searching for the other.

Eyewitnesses on local channel 9 being interviewed now, still saying two different people threw tear gas canisters, one from the front of the theater and one from the rear

ABC News blotter (live blog) states 14 dead with up to 50 wounded as well as the following:

"We have no evidence of a second gunman but obviously we are concerned about that.

"Police found the gunman out the back of the cinemas in possession of a gas mask and a rifle and a hand gun.

"There was another weapon in the theatre."

Perhaps this is why there is some confusion about the number of shooters.
