My gosh it's been this way for as long as I can remember. NY Times James "Scotty" Reston, et al denounced the conservatives' "climate of hate" and the violence that led to the assassination of JFK.
Even Republicans joined the fun.. Pennsylvania governor William Scranton (or was it Michigan gov George Romney?) denounced Goldwater conservatives as "purveyors of hate."
People older than me must remember how it was in the 1930's -- and people older than that remember the 1920s and on and on . . . .
So now we are FINALLY going to confront the lying little pests and get it over with?
