Everyone makes asses of themselves at some point in life and experiences the pain of the aftermath. For me, most of the pain has come from my own disappointment in myself.

I was raised by a Navy officer so I can’t really do Adam’s self justification and excuses is such stark incidents when I have hurt someone like he did in his liberal zeal. I just fess up and beg for forgiveness. Although, thank goodness, I don’t do this often, I have never had forgiveness withheld from me.

So my dad was right about excuses. It doesn’t fix the broken plate to explain to it why it made you drop it. You appologize to the owner for breaking it and work hard to find a replacement or make up for it as best you can.

I have to admit, I have failed to ever get myself fired for a viral insane fit and I have failed to toss a fit and posted the disaster on youtube. Thank God for tender mercies. And thank God for my dad, too. I really miss him.
