The Guard indeed is a hero.

I'll admit to being one of the people who thought "what's so heroic about getting shot?" after reading the initial versions of this story.

But come to find out the guard got shot, then wrestled the SOB to the ground, disarmed him, and held him at gunpoint with his own gun... Heroic indeed!

Here's to that guard's swift and full recovery! Shame the only gun he had available was the one he took from the shooter, though maybe disarming him was the best option: "charge a gun, run from a knife."
