You're right. The obvious standard is: if the whack-job shooter can in any way (correctly or not) be associated with the TEA Party, conservatives, the GOP, bitter-clingers, NRA, KKK, etc. then "this is an important story and must be run into the ground for the next week."

However if the crazed shooter is in any way associated with the left... Well then "we must not publicize events like this, it only encourages others."

The double-standard should be painfully obvious to anyone who has been awake the last few years. The MSM really can no longer even remotely consider itself a "news" organization. They are basically political lobbying groups, spewing pure excrement and propaganda. The old Pravda would be proud.
