I am a Former Intel Analyst who has reason to track what goes on in the region. And I also track all things political nationally and internationally. While I agree that we need to acknowledge our involvement, your take is a little simplistic.
Oh, and the guy talking to Beck, General Boykin, was Commander, Delta Force, and Commander, USSOCOM, and he spent time as Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. If means anything, he spent 2 years of his life being investigated for a myriad of things stemming from false accusations (levied because he made the statement quoted to a Somali Warlord) and he was exonerated on ALL charges. I have not only met him, but I have worked with people who know and have worked closely with him both as a military professional and as a civilian operator.
Ought to read up some time on how Ike dealt with American generals who made similar idiotic statements that might offend allies during WWII.
Generals, especially in time of war, are given great power. They as a result have great responsibility not to say remarkably stupid things that injure the fighting power of the nation they work for.
