Why do rock and rollers complain over use of their music by Republicans but never complain about Democrats using their music?
I remember the group Heart complained about Sarah Palin using their music in the last campaign.
I heard that the rock band Rush was taking action against Rush Limbaugh to stop him from using their music.
For as much as you hear old rock and roll tunes in commercials, movies, TV shows, etc. nowadays, clearly they are happy to give such permission for use of their music most of the time.
I would think that any publicity would be welcomed by this has been.
Why don’t these candidates - and also Rush and Hannity - use music from artists who support them or at least support free speech?????
I am tried of this petty sniping. Screw them.
I’m sure there are MANY artists who would appreciate the support and publicity
We’ll just make our money off the greedy capitalist system, then tell you how government is the best thing for you! Don’t use my music you evil, capitalist-supporting pig! Just buy my records!
I think I have the gist of what Dee’s saying...right?

What a putz.
The Who’s lyrics would be much better anyway...We won’t get fooled again.
If Paul Ryan bought the MP3 file, who’s to say he can’t play it? I don’t get this. Is there a license they have to get in order to play a song in public, like they have with videos? Do MP3 files come with a disclaimer saying it’s only for personal private use and can’t be played in public?
What’s the legal basis for an artist wanting to control where a person can play an MP3 file after that artist sold it to them?
At least the rest of us know not to buy anything or play anything from Twisted Sister again.
Knock yourself out, petulant sister Dee. Like anyone in the real world cares.
I don’t know why they’re picking some lame songs like this...
I’ve got some suggestions for themes...
How does one get in touch with the right person in the campaign who can change it?
Asking for FReep help.
Another thing: Just suppose a GOP Department of Justice took the Eric Holder approach and refused to initiate or prosecute cases of illegal copying, downloading and file sharing when the so-called artist was not one of a friendly political stripe.
You get your music; the cover band gets work and exposure and idiots like Snider get pissed off.
Win-win-win.
“Has Been Rocker” whinning.
Hell hath no fury like a one hit wonder who’s only moderately successfull song is sampled by a Republican.
Dee Snider wants to be relevant again after his cameo in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and Celebrity Apprentice.
Let it go Dee.
