My reason is simple. The child is ruined for the rest of their life. The rapist might as well killed them.
I speak from personal family experience where I know of a 65 year old woman is still haunted from child abuse.
Additionally these monsters can’t be cured.
As a father of two young sons I can’t even begin to articulate the rage a parent feels when their children are hurt. It’s a primordial rage that drives one to kill the offender with their bare hands. No guns or knives, just raw violent death as a result of the unforgivable.

Become a parent and you will understand.
Like the saying goes, the most dangerous place in the world is between a mother and her children.

You are correct in saying that these offenders are incurable. That’s why I am in favor of the life without parole sentence.
However, I completely respect your reasoning and sentiments.
