R. Lee Ermey, the actor best known for his role as the drill sergeant in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket," claims he was fired by GEICO for criticizing President Obama.
After being asked about his GEICO commercial wherein he played a psychiatrist calling his patient a "jackwagon," Ermey said, "GEICO fired me because I had, I wasnt too kind about speaking with the, about the administration, so the present administration. So they fired me."
"So they fired you because of political reasons?" asked the TMZ representative.
"Yeah," Ermey answered. "If youre a conservative in this town, you better watch out."

GEICO has a perfect right to hire and fire whomever they please. They want to sell insurance to moonbats and rightwingers and everyone else. They do not chose to appeal to a niche market. If one of their more prominent spokesmen appears to be criticizing a figure who is sacrosanct to about 30% of their potential customers, they should be expected to fire him.
You have a right to your opinions. You do not have a right to a job.
I remember. Geico also donated radar guns to police departments around the country while having a strict policy of increasing insurance rates if you are caught speeding.
What is fascinating about his acting in Full Metal Jacket is that he never steps out of character, he is always the Drill Instructor.
Time for a little conservative boycott of Government Employees Insurance COmpany (GEICO).
And Conservatives have a perfect right to buy insurance from somebody else, and let them know why. Let the wars begin, and may the righteous side win.
