The movie “Fat Head” made fun of this very idea.
The government mindset is that people are too stupid to realize that McDonald’s food is fattening and bad for you. So he went up to people on the street holding a tray with McDonald’s food and asked:
1) Is this food healthy or unhealthy to eat?
2) Will eating this food make you fat?
Everyone, absolutely everyone, knew it was unhealthy and would make you fat.
We don’t need a paternalistic govt to point out what we already know.

Not all Mcdees food is fattening. I like when restaurants list the cal. I can them make a informed decision on what I want to eat or not...just as I look at the labels on packages of food in stores.
I agree. Here on FR, though, advocating a healthy lifestyle will get you ostracized.
Saw that at our local McDonald’s a few days ago. It makes it easy to calculate calories per dollar, to determine the best value. Even with a BOGO for a quarter pounder with cheese, the McDouble gives more calories/$.
I don’t need anything in writing to tell me how many calories there are in McDonalds’ food. The answer is: a shitload. And I don’t care.
I stopped in yesterday and it was on the tray mat. I found out if I order a grilled chicken wrap with no dressing (or use Honey Mustard) instead of a double cheeseburger, I can get several plain ice cream sundaes and not feel guilty! I’m lovin’ it.
Flour and sugar are the enemy. Eat in small quantities, and you’ll have no weight problem.
Sometimes you don't know what the calories are in certain foods at restaurants even though it appears healthy or has mainly healthy ingredients...sometimes it fools you. I was getting what I thought was a healthy cranberry/apple/chicken salad at a place-thought it has maybe 500-600 cal and looked at their website later and it was 1450 cal.

I order the grilled chicken sandwich at times 350 cal and 295 w/o the mayo which is how I order it.
I have seen the new menu boards on the drive-thru. It is difficult to read. There is no order to the menu. Very confusing to me.
They won't, of course, do anything much with this information. Or maybe they'll top off the bazillion-calorie McDonalds meal with a diet soft drink. And "feel" that they're doing something. (And if their clothes don't fit, it must be George Bush's fault.)

Say yes to healthy. Say no to the nanny state.
They should concentrate more on their food, and not their advertising fluff. Working getting fresh buns, for a change. Work on making sure the burgers are hot when you get them. Working going back to the old fries and not the new cardboard ones.
But most of all, working on replacing your staff with some that are not complacent, distracted, and display an attitude.
