As anyone whos read my abstinence column here at Fox News Opinion could guess, my wedding is something that Ive looked forward to for quite some time. After having tied the knot at the end of August, I can now say beyond all shadow of a doubt, that it was everything Id hoped and prayed that it would be since childhood. (Id also prayed to be bitten by a radioactive spider and develop sticky hands, but I was an idiot.)
Let me preface this column by saying this: my wife (I have to get used to saying that) and I not only waited sexually in every way (no, we didnt pull the Bill Clinton and technically avoid sex sex,) but we didnt shack up as live-ins and most importantly, we courted each other in a way that was consistent with our publicly professed values.
We did it right.
Feeling judged? I couldnt care less. You know why? Because my wife and I were judged all throughout our relationship. People laughed, scoffed and poked fun at the young, celibate, naive Christian couple.

Somehow I knew who wrote this post. Had to look to be sure though.
PfffffLOLOLOL!!
Pfallderall ! ;)
God seemed to think it should be for everyone.
Back then. Before I got married (And that was almost 32 years ago at age 31). I did not care. I am glad I matured. I have had a wonderful marriage and raised 3 great boys But I do not regret the wild oats of my youth...it was an education.
Congrats to Mr and Mrs. Crowder!
I as a lapsed catholic who went through 10 years of catholic parochial school, know the rules as set down in a Christian bible. My thoughts on the subject are my own and I feel comfortable with them.
People forget than God invented sex, not us, and to go against His guidance on it causes the kind of trouble we are in
12 yrs Dominicannuns.
NY, too
And as soon they get divorced or bored with each other those moral feelings will go away and they’ll be screwing someone else.
All due respect, can’t understand when people think it’s necessary to have information.
I found out about abortion as a 12 year old. THe three other 12 yr olds with me and I all said:
Wow, that’s a problem, mothers killing their babies.
How do they do that.
Well some people say they suck the baby out with a vaccuum that has blades attached to it, but they also could inject a chemical that doesn’t hurt the mother.
This is is not good. We’re in for trouble.
Many yrs and medical school later that view has not changed.
It doesn’t take information, just the common sense of a 12 year old.
Ask one and see.
Yes, it is sad that it is unique in these last days.
They are believing what God says in His Word in Hebrews 13:4:
“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
Thank the Lord that forgiveness is offered at the cross of Christ for those who come repenting of this (and all) sins and believing in Him.
I did not forgot what I learned about what God did. I take a more pragmatic view of things.
8 years Dominican sister
2 years Marist brothers
Then we moved from NYC to the burbs
But I learned all the seedy stuff from buds in catholic school. Not in public HS on long island
Waiting till marriage is primitive and outdated, they say...I always wonder why people think that if they rut like animals with a different person every week, they are somehow the more advanced lifeform.
Doing as the animals do, and THEY are the more advanced ones? Gimme a break.
I thank God everyday for my children’s Catholic school, where this message is taught with love and conviction.
Guess I was encouraged to think.
Not thinking, especially among kids, is what gets us into a lot of trouble.
Girls that have abortions, whether they were “told to” or not most likely fall under the category of doing a lot of things they’re told not to do and who don’t do a lot of things they’re told to do. Like having sex, for instance.
In any case it is that girl ( and the boy) who have to live with the decision the rest of their lives.
They don’t tald a lot about girls being coerced into having abortions by parents.
They don’t tell you that in “pro-choice” rhetoric.
