I don't think so...he was screwed by the people he trusted to obtain those signatures, pure and simple. The fact that they faked them and his accepting that by resigning without jumping on the blame-train reinforces my respect for the guy.
I also have a lot of respect for the AG and SOS as well. They applied justice equally in a state firmly in the hands of their own party.
