I’m surprised how many conservatives don’t get that they are no longer wanted in the Republican Party. The only reason Ryan was chosen as VP candidate was to entice conservatives to vote for Romney. But Ryan is just a puppet, a sham. He has no influence on the campaign whatsoever. And should Romney/Ryan get elected, Ryan will have no influence on administration policy either.

I think it is dawning on him now ... maybe as early as pre-convention. They call Romney's aides "the Children of the Corn": Ryan will have helped himself to a whole big slice of reality, the first time he got a load of them.

Unless he is somehow elected to his old seat in Congress, he's done in politics -- unless Romney wins. Even then, he'll be like Dan Quayle.

Maybe not, but George Bush had no influence on Reagan's policy, and he was still able to become president using his V.P. slot as a springboard. So no question being V.P. help's Ryan's long-term chances of gaining more power.
