Now, it is jihadi killers in Benghazi gunning down our ambassador and three soldiers, and burning the consulate.

A huge difference in 1980 was that the famously conservative leader Ronald Reagan, had to convince the American people that he was not too far right for American politics, that he wouldn’t get us killed with his strong, bold, even radically conservative views.
Reagan had significant;y different policies than Carter. Romney supported the rebels in Libya and now in Syria. Liberal fail.

Electorally it IS a lot like Carter. However, don’t dismiss the advantage the left has enjoyed between then and now. When good and evil compromise, evil wins.
Well, we have two choices this year, so pick wisely.
1. high gas prices
2. high unemployment
3. widely hated USA in the middle-east

Seems as if the presidential race this year is going similarly to the one in 1980 so far, and hopefully it will continue that way through Election Day.
