"purporting to tell the story of women who claimed Mitt Romney advised them in the 1980s, in his capacity as a church leader, against having abortions."

And how would this be inconsistent with the pro-life position Romney has been taking the entire campaign? This would seem to reinforce the sincerity of his position thus eliminating the "surprise" factor of this being an October surprise.

Still, I distinctly recall Romney making an RTL statement and noting he has this exception thing ~ and that's NOT RTL to have that exception.

Seriously, you can look up the LDS materials on their internet websites and the exception thing is LDS policy ~ you can do abortions but you are supposed to engage in prayer and counseling first ~ presumably with a proper church authority ~ e.g. your local bishop.

There are some people who imagine there's some RTL basis to the exception thing but it looks more like an excuse to kill babies to RTL folks.

Somebody want to jump in here and tell us why LDS has that exception thing? Maybe you'd like to tell us why any child should face execution without trial ~ no doubt some think that's OK, but these aren't RTL positions.

Oh, and don't bother arguing that 'Well that's better than Obamugabe' because you get the same thing either way ~ dead babies! It is necessary for Romney and his followers to actually adopt an RTL position first for any of them to legitimately claim they have an RTL position. Very simple to do in fact ~ swear off killing babies.
