Ann Romney makes surprise birthday call to a terminally ill woman

Breitbart News received the following from reader Eric Mercer of Malvern, PA. This just happened this weekend. Though the Romney campaign has not asked me to do anything, I am telling everyone I know about this because I get so angry about the things that have been said about the Romneys.

On, October 20, 2012, the night of my mother’s 79th birthday, Ann Romney called, wished her a happy birthday, and thanked my mother for her support of Mitt. They chatted for a little while, as Mrs. Romney was concerned about my mother’s failing health. When their conversation was over my mother was visible moved by this act of kindness and how special she felt on her birthday.

My 79 year old mother (above, far left) is sadly in her last days, as she is losing her fight with a terminal liver disease. For the last month, she has been concerned that she would not get her absentee ballot in time to vote for what would undoubtedly be her last time. She believes this election to be very important to the future of her children and grandchildren, and wanted to be sure to do her part to change the direction of the country she loves.

This is my hometown. What a lovely gesture on Ann Romney's part. I will be proud (and humbled) to have them as our First Family in a few short weeks.

Class is just around the corner. All we have to do is be a little patient and keep pressing forward.

When Ann Romney becomes First Lady next month, I will finally for the first time in 4 years be proud of the person holding that designation.

My wife and I were returning home on IH-35 from a Tea Party Express gathering near Waco a couple of days after the “Work Place Violence” at Fort Hood when a couple of black Suburbans came past us (we were driving a little slower than usual because of the flags flying).

I made the remark that I had not seen that since George was President. We live about forty miles south of Crawford and twenty miles east of Fort Hood; we became used to low flying escort planes and black caravans during that time.

There were also other bedecked cars returning from the event along with the two Tea Party Express well decorated buses. Another remark to wife was that if that was George, he has to be enjoying the parade...

Two days later it came out in the public media that George and Laura had spent the rest of the day at Fort Hood visiting with the victims of the Muslim SOB that still sleeps about four miles from me.

Exactly. The same kind of humble presence and honor.

Certainly missing in the current occupant, who would rather spend such moments calling the Sandra Flukes of the world.

13 days left.

Ann would be a great First Lady. She seems to be classy, kind-hearted, and I definitely appreciate that she is pro-life. I hope that even though there are some people trying as hard as they can to make the Romneys look like monsters that the voters see the truth and we get to have the Romneys as our First Family.
