Team Obama's Justification For Killing A 16-Year-Old American In A Drone Strike Is Stunning
Michael Kelley | Oct. 24, 2012, 2:04 PM

Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, a senior adviser to President Obama's reelection campaign, recently became the first person on Team Obama to address the killing of 16-year-old American citizen Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, Conor Friedersdorf of the The Atlantic reports.

Abdulrahman was the son of New Mexico-born cleric and al-Qaeda propagandist Anwar al-Alwaki. Both were killed in separate drone strikes last year.

A reporter asked Gibbs: "Do you think that the killing of Anwar al-Alwaki's 16-year-old son, who was an American citizen, is justifiable?"

Here is Gibbs' answer:

The sad thing is, so many people are okay with this because its a “terrist”. You think you’ve seen “mission creep” with all levels of government? Wait till it happens with drone strikes.

I wonder if he would also blame the illegal immigrant father of a 16-year old who was being deported.

Gibbs ought to be in jail for his crass lying to the American people as he supports his fearless leader. The same applies to the clown who is now the chief truth deflector for the liar-in-chief......

How anyone could vote for this lying bunch of a-holes is beyond me......

I will admit that killing a sixteen year old kid is a big step.

It’s a big step that better be justifiable. If he was meeting with a terrorist group to plot against the United States, and that was verifiable, I might buy off on it.

Although I wouldn’t kill the kid just because of who his father was, it would make the decision more justifiable if the kid were known to be following in his dad’s footsteps.

I do want to leave that sort of scenario open to this and future presidents.

Now, is Obama clear on this? Well, I think there’s some explaining to do. And the problem with a guy like Obama, is that he almost never tells the truth.

If we had been able to get our sites on a 16 year old Osama Bin Laden, and his record had already become clear, and he was a U. S. Citizen, I would give the order to take him out.

We had Laden on the tarmac at least once, and I believe it was twice. If only we hadn’t sat on our hand then.

If there was no history on this kid, we didn’t have him meeting with terrorists, and his death can’t be justified, I would agree that this is a crime, an impeachable offense, and would most likely qualify him for prosecution.

Frankly, I don’t want to imagine it. The atmosphere would be hellish.

Bill Ayers people figured killing 25 million American citizen “terrorists” in the conversion of this country to communism was an acceptable number.

They do not care. They are the heirs of Staliin, Pol Pot, Mao, Osama bin Laden etc. We are just collateral to them.

We can kill an American kid in Yemen without Yemen's permission but the WH says we couldn't send anyone into Libya without their permission to rescue four Americans who work for the State Dept.

Did we ask Pakistan permission to fly in and kill bin Laden? Or dozens of other terrorists there?

Yes, the justification is wrong. But if you are a 16 year old hanging out with people who are behind enemy lines who are plotting to kill us, I have little sympathy for you. There is always the reality of collateral damage. It always occurs or is a possibility. If we refuse to allow collateral damage, we will be rendered incapable of action and we will be defeated.

Anwar al Aulaqi had no moral qualms about helping two of the 9/11 hijackers when they arrived in California, and moved with them to the east coast where he helped them there as well. You'd think helping a group of foreigners attack the US, with the intention of murdering 50-60,000 Americans, might at a minimum have some blow-back that would endanger your kid.

Anwar al Aulaqi had no concern for the unborn child of the pregnant woman killed at Ft Hood by his follower Hassan, or for the other twelve Americans Hassan murdered. Ft. Hood wasn't in Yemen, it was here in the USA. Aulaqi was full of jihadi praises.

Anwar al Awlaki was the inspiration of the Toronto 18, whose plan was to bust into the Canadian Parliament and take hostages, intending to cut the head off of Prime minister Steven Harper.

Oh, let us not forget his abetting of the young predecessor to Abdul Mutallab... to stick a bomb in his ass and try to assassinate the Saudi intel chief. That was just a practice run for trying to blow up an airplane using someone else’s “kid” as the bomb carrier, on Christmas no less, and aimed at killing Americans of any age, who just happened to be unfortunate to be aboard the flight, or in the area when the plane would go down.

And of course Al Aulaqi had no concern for all the teenage Somalis he was sending to their deaths.

Just what do you have to do to lose your citizenship these days, if going to war against the US and swearing allegiance to a foreign entity is not quite good enough?

While Gibbs is a dope I fully agree with his sentiments and wish they had been more clearly stated, to wit; ‘If one becomes a jihadist then you are an enemy of this country and we will kill you if we can.’ I have no use for the Mahdi but the drone war seems inspired. it is unfortunate we don't have a100 times or a 1000 times as many of these machines. It is also unfortunate that the US simply doesn't conduct drone strikes and cruise missile bombardment of any place in the raghead universe where jihadists gather in numbers. Getting ones town worked over by these robot planes would certainly get the welcome mat pulled in for jihadists. If the natives don't get the drift the first time hit them again harder. The USAF behaved with no scruples in attacking civilian targets and even individual civilians during the final phase of the war with Germany. Nazis or not the Germans were and are civilized people. The ragheads are just a lot of barbarians and should be worked over relentlessly until they grasp that the Yankee feringhee have very long and sharp teeth.

What concerns me greatly is that if we condone this death, for whatever reason, it is a small step, or possibly a few small steps to go from justifying this death to justifying your death and mine.

Who gets to decide to yank someone’s citizenship?

Who gets to decide that you and I are enemies of the US?

Who gets to decide with no trial that we are guilty?
