Here's why the IRS will require Americans to disclose their personal health ID information starting in 2014
When Obamacares individual mandate takes effect in 2014, all Americans who file income tax returns must complete an additional IRS tax form. The new form will require disclosure of a taxpayers personal identifying health information in order to determine compliance with the Affordable Care Acts individual mandate.
As confirmed by IRS testimony to the tax-writing House Committee on Ways and Means, taxpayers will file their tax returns reporting their health insurance coverage, and/or making a payment.
So why will the Obama IRS require your personal identifying health information?
Simply put, there is no way for the IRS to enforce Obamacares individual mandate without such an invasive reporting scheme. Every January, health insurance companies across America will send out tax documents to each insured individual. This tax documenta copy of which will be furnished to the IRSmust contain sufficient information for taxpayers to prove that they purchased qualifying health insurance under Obamacare.
This new tax information document must, at a minimum, contain: the name and health insurance identification number of the taxpayer; the name and tax identification number of the health insurance company; the number of months the taxpayer was covered by this insurance plan; and whether or not the plan was purchased in one of Obamacares exchanges.
This will involve millions of new tax documents landing in mailboxes across America every January, along with the usual raft of W-2s, 1099s, and 1098s. At tax time, the 140 million families who file a tax return will have to get acquainted with a brand new tax filing form. Six million of these families will end up paying Obamacares individual mandate non-compliance tax penalty.
As a service to the public, Americans for Tax Reform has released a projected version of this tax form to help families and tax specialists prepare for this additional filing requirement. Taxpayers may view the projected IRS form at www.ObamacareTaxForm.com. On the form, lines 3-4 show where taxpayers will disclose their personal identifying health information.
I intend to take a heavy black marker and “redact” my entire form. If nothing else it will screw up their autoread scanners and force them to input it by hand.
What happened to HIPPA?
We need a real LEADER to stand up and say "this is America, and there is NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO RE-DISTRIBUTE OUR EARNINGS, TO BUY YOUR VOTERBASE".
Lock 'n load, folks.
It will be left blank on my forms...
Always nice to have IRS come to the house and say “HI”.....
I did a Google search on 0care and found an analysis on it. Nowhere are the individual taxpayers to file a separate form. The employers are the ones to do it.
The document was published on 2 July 2012 by the Congressional Research service, written by Janemarie Mulvey and Hinda Chaikind;
title is Individual Mandate and Related Information Requirements under ACA
HIPPA prevents companies and doctors from sharing your medical information. You are perfectly free to share it to everybody, including the IRS. In theory they’ll have to follow HIPPA regulations too, in theory.
I’ve been asking that question of my Communist representatives since 2007. Did you hear the answer? Neither did I!
“Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six.” Rev. 13:18
What about this report
www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R41331.pdf
Says the employers are to fill out the form.
And even though they claim (for now) that the IRS won’t have authority to collct as they do for taxes, they can take out the penalty from any tax refund you may have coming. Be sure that, if anything, your taxes are a little underpaid and send them a check just for the FIT.
I will not comply.
That has the potential to create jobs for 300,000 new bureaucrats just to keep tabs on it.
Don’t make us get out za probe, Comrade, it can be so messy.
who’da thunk.. in America? 2012?
I guess if someone didn’t want to break the law, they could buy a policy just before filing, cancel the policy after filing, and remain uninsured for eleven months out of the year and still be compliant.
HIPPA should prevent your private health information from being shared with anyone but your doctor. But Obamacare requires all doctors to input ALL information on ALL patients into an Internet file. Who thinks the Dems won’t have access to private health info on their enemies? Sorta like those FBI files that turned up in the private residence of the WH when the Clintoons lived there.
??? How about electronic filing of tax returns? Hard to believe that they will end those. Maybe that info will be included electronically.
Of course if you don't comply and don't have enough withholding to get a refund there is nothing they can do to you legally. If you get a tax credit like EITC they can keep that.
The real costly mandates are the popular ones like pre-existing conditions.
Thanks largely to the war on drugs the government has always been on the acceptable share list. Otherwise they couldn’t find out you have too many oxy prescriptions.
One way or the other they’re getting the data. Which is no big deal, they already were getting for drug enforcement purposes, it’s just another department getting it.
I won’t comply, this I guarantee you.
