I suspect that you are correct.

Furthermore though Romney won the state by 10 points, the Democrats captured every statewide office except one.

It also didn't help that McCaskill's prime commercial for the last week of the campaign had Romney and McCain attacking Akin -- playing their words of public rebuke over and over again.

I know it happens because they admit it in candid moments. In this case, tea partier Kerry Bentivolio was running to fill the slot against the hand picked GOP write in. Bentivolio won by a wide margin last night BTW.

"I and a lot of Republicans I know won't vote for a tea party guy," said attorney David Zacks of Bloomfield Hills, strolling past the expensive boutique shops of downtown Birmingham with his son during a recent lunch hour.
