A ping list is when you place the names of specific people who ask to be updated or notified when you post into the To: box above the post. For instance, I would like to be notified when you post and so would annieokie, so you would put MestaMachine;annieokie in the To: box and Ping in the message body. You can ask if people would like to be added and they can either freepmail you or just ask right on the thread. Make sure you keep a list of all the names so you can retrieve it and copy/paste when you need it. Separate the names with semicolons.

Mesta, do the nicks have to be separated with a space. When pinging I have been using a space after the semicolon. Is using a space unnecessary?

annie, Thank You for bringing up a request for Dave forming a ping list. It is the little things which are sometimes forgotten on a thread. Much appreciation for your having suggested. Would have probably run off myself, and then updates (which Dave, you promised) would not come to the forefront. Thank You, annie!

Interesting, but I thought there was a way to have a permanent PING LIST. Looks like you have to type in each name each time in order to PING, is that correct? That can be quite a job.

Time for a Permanant PING LIST storage place on FR. Possible? Kinda like the group mailing list on our Email address book.
