Allen West concedes to Patrick Murphy
Politico ^ | 11-20-2012 | ALEX ISENSTADT

Florida Rep. Allen West — the tea party pugilist and face of the class of House Republicans that stormed to power two years ago — conceded Tuesday to 29-year-old construction executive Patrick Murphy in one of the nation’s highest-profile congressional races.

After two weeks of battle with St. Lucie County elections officials — and a recount of early votes that wound up extending Murphy’s lead — West acknowledged that he couldn’t surmount his 1,904-vote, or 0.58 percent, deficit. That difference was just outside the 0.5 percent threshold to automatically trigger a recount of all votes.

You cannot say that with absolutes because he did not get a complete recount of how many voters voted twice or were legal/illegal. That is the injection some are making. We have a lot of illegals in Florida, too.

That Murphy barely won this time, shows he’s probably beatable in 2014. I doubt though that West will have an appetite to run again since he knows that even if he won, he could easily lose the seat in 2016.

Too many false alarms in this Congressional District 18 recount did not pan out:

First was the accusation of 142% of registered voters voting — not true. It was about 71% as the voters voted 2 ballots.

Second was the 2000 vote swing in the early votes from Allen to Murphy that his campaign witnessed on election night — not true as the recount of the early votes showed.

Third was the 900 votes from “Guatamalan illegals” in Precinct #93 — not true as it turns out to be a senior retirement center On Golden Pond connected to Precinct #33.

Fourth was the box of 304 ballots that the SoE was hiding in her closet — turned out to be ballots with write-in votes on them that had to be manually counted because they wouldn’t go through the machines. Understandable.

Fifth was the highly partisan nature of the SoE and yet she received 10,000 votes from Allen West partisans for SoE.

And let’s be honest atleast the SoE acknowledged her eggregious mistake early on of counting some ballots twice and others not at all, which no one would ever have known about unless she had admitted it.

Sixth was the fact that other counties like Palm Beach had more problems than St Lucie but they were not publicized.

Seventh is the fact that West received about as many votes in St Lucie as there were registered Republicans while his opponent received about 10,000 fewer than there were registered Democrats. West’s numbers there were quite good under those registration circumstances. Had the registered Republicans in Martin County turned out for West as they had in St Lucie, he would have won the Congressional District.

There were just too many intelligence failures in this post election drama for me to lose any sleep over. Not all campaigns, political or military, are won. This was one of those unfortunately.

Best wish; he runs for Senate and wins. Of he finds a way to make that 'difference' some other way; and is so successful; the GOP will wish; that they had not messed; with West.

On it's face; and a whole lot more we cannot see; an altogether depressing political undoing. And the worst of it; done by one's owe Party. (Including that of not supporting the efforts to demand accountability for legal voting.) Clearly; no matter what West did; the GOP looked worse; in their minds; for his efforts.

Think it time for GOP to drop the grand 'Elephant'; and just make their political symbol; a big; old. . .lap dog; of any politically correct mix; of course. Dog only has to love Democrats.

Impressive. . .all of what is happening so depressing. What is ‘heartening’; is how many good people we have out there.

My country is under attack. I will not abandon my country because I believe in the Constitution, Liberty and Freedom. I am at war with those PEOPLE in my country who wish to destroy all that I hold dear. Let’s focus on the PEOPLE in this country who are THE enemy...our country’s founders were solid and their plans for this country were the same...don’t forsake the country. Rather focus on the PEOPLE who are destroying same.

It is an evil world we live in, can't find a more fitting description then that. It is as evil as the world that Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler occupied, to spread their hate for people who want to live their lives free. All things anti-Christ are raising their ugly heads in the country, the world for that matter. We'll have to fight this evil like we have fought other wars...with a prayer, with strategy, with a gun if all else fails.

Thanks for posting, Uncle Chip. West said he would had fought this on because he felt there would be more fraud uncovered tho, the numbers did not give him the recount. Money wasn’t there for legal battle nor his party support as well. He was respectful enough to not drag this out: for his family, the state, his district in which would had turned into a media war. Martin County is no absolute, I believe. It’s several traffic signals from Ft Pierce to Port St Lucie. They had time/opportunity to change the numbers ..Imo. There should be a national conversation to combat election fraud. I think most of the fraudulent voting was set up in the early voting by the democrats.

Much of today’s U.S. society does not respect the military and those that disrespect our military men and women are increasing in numbers.

“..young liberal punks who loathed the military and gave no respect to the military service...”

Simple.

1: They weren’t always “young liberal punks”. Marxist/Liberal College and university professors helped create that. Take your average kid full of hormones, trying to fit in and find his place in the world, and start hammering them with sex and political bullsh*t theories long since proven wrong, and give them NO alternative lines of dialogue nor forum for dissent, and you’ll GET “young liberal punks” who hate everything.

2: This isn’t the same country that it once was; post WWII, we had two, three generations of people who fought in that war, the 18 year olds from pre-1941, and the 18 years olds from 1945 and up through Korea. Those generations had tremendous patriotism and were taught Americanism in schools.

Americanism is now equated with racism by the same perpetrators in point number 1 above.

3: Parents of these young liberal punks were educated the same way. Brought up and raised on lib “feel-good” everything fair and equal garbage - you know, the “everybody gets a trophy for showing up” crowd.

4. Kids who actually DO serve in the military - the last bastion of Americanism, in my opinion, come out with an appreciation and a love of their country that their civvy counterparts will never have.

Which is all the more reason why Obama and his lib subversives were so hell-bent on fagging up the military services to de-stabilize that last bit of Americanism.

Bush needed to let the Voting Rights Act either expire or be modified. It’s silly and no longer applicable in the South.

Fox News should dump that fatass Bob Beckle and replace him with a real, American loving patriot by the name of Allen West. Colonel West could also replace the leftwing Obama apologist Juan Williams.
