Florida Rep. Allen West — the tea party pugilist and face of the class of House Republicans that stormed to power two years ago — conceded Tuesday to 29-year-old construction executive Patrick Murphy in one of the nation’s highest-profile congressional races.
After two weeks of battle with St. Lucie County elections officials — and a recount of early votes that wound up extending Murphy’s lead — West acknowledged that he couldn’t surmount his 1,904-vote, or 0.58 percent, deficit. That difference was just outside the 0.5 percent threshold to automatically trigger a recount of all votes.

Let's see a 24/7 TV news network version of CNS or Breitbart first, then maybe we'll have a chance.
We need a right wing news network to take the leftist pressure off fair and balanced, center Fox News.
We're probably going to be seeing a democrat in the WH after 2016. If not an Obama third term then someone else.
Allen West won 53,000 votes in in a county with this kind of registration.
That's pretty good especially since 10,000 of those who voted for him also voted for the Democratic Supervisor of Elections who won 10,000 more votes than Obama.
Someone needs to find some of these 10,000 people and ask them what they were thinking.
This is probably a good thing as Col. West will go onto bigger things and will now have a bigger platform.
Being a Congressman, he is one of 535, now he can do whatever he wants - look at the impact that Sarah Palin had after the loss in 2008.
I wonder if they’ll prorate his dues to the Black Caucus?
Yes, she should! Allen West is not the loser here--the voters are.

Allen West Concedes to Democrat Patrick Murphy

Combative Florida Rep. Allen West has finally accepted that a recount cannot propel him to a come-from-behind victory and conceded his House race early Tuesday morning to Democrat challenger Patrick Murphy.
“While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election,” West said in a statement released on his Facebook page.
“I say he should be our next president!”

Sad, but not unforeseen. From what I understand, the district (thanks Florida GOP, you damn idiots) was mostly rat. He still did good and I think he will win in 2 years. I hope he takes this time to recharge and get ready. I hope he goes all out next time. He is a leader in the conservative movement and he needs to be out there, engaging and educating.
You the man Col. West.
