Florida imam's jihad terror ties exposed by local news station

We all know CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or Fox wasn't going to do it. "Imam’s Terrorist Ties Exposed by Local News Station," from Judicial Watch, November 26 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

While the Obama Justice Department tours the nation condemning unfounded discrimination against Muslims at their place of worship, a local Florida news station uncovers an imam’s ties to a blind sheik behind the first World Trade Center bombing in the early 90s.

Not surprisingly, the administration’s campaign to combat mosque intolerance is being heavily promoted while the shocking imam terrorist story gets swept under the rug. We only know about it because a central Florida reporter took the time to dig around and uncover the Orlando-area imam’s disturbing ties to an extremist group behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The imam’s real name is Marcus Robertson but he goes by Abu Taubah and he preaches the Quran at the Masjid Al-Ihsaan Mosque in East Orange County. He also has an extensive criminal record, according to the news report. Imam Tubah is actually a convicted felon who has murdered people, attempted assassinations, taken hostages and tried to kill police officers. Last year, on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he planned an attack on U.S. military personnel overseas, according to prosecutors.

Authorities say Imam Taubah has deep ties to Islamic terrorists and that he was a bodyguard to Omar Abdel Rahman, the blink sheik behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The Egyptian-born militant Islamist was convicted after the ’93 attack of plotting to bomb several New York City landmarks and is currently in prison.

Hundreds of miles away in Miami last year, the feds raided a mosque with terrorist ties albeit under Obama’s new rules of engagement to assure cultural sensitivity towards Islam. A Pakistani imam named Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan and his relatives were charged with providing financial and material support to the Pakistani Taliban, which is associated with Al-Qaeda and has claimed responsibility for numerous attacks against American interests. Khan founded an Islamic school that supports the Taliban’s jihad while living in Pakistan and continued controlling and funding it as an imam in Miami, according to the federal indictment.

Considering these cases and others around the U.S., is it any wonder why some Americans may seem suspicious that a number of new mosques are popping up all over the country? The Obama Administration claims they are suffering unwarranted intolerance from what one top Department of Justice (DOJ) official calls “islamophobes.” In fact, a day after the Orlando terrorist imam story broke, the assistant attorney general in charge of the DOJ’s bloated civil rights division damned Muslim prejudice at the opening of a new mosque in Tennessee.

Addressing worshipers at the grand opening of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez said, “without question we are seeing real challenges to the civil rights of Muslim Americans,” especially in mosques. He referred to the offenders as “islamophobes” and assured that his agency is taking action, investigating over 800 incidents involving threats targeting Arabs, Muslims, Sikhs and south Asians. The DOJ is also working with state and local prosecutors in “numerous non-federal criminal prosecutions,” Perez said.

Perez will be one of those condemned by history.

Creeping has more:

So where are the charges?

Authorities said Robertson was bodyguard to Omar Abdel Rahman, known as the Blind Sheik. Rahman’s extremist Islamic group was blamed for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Authorities said Robertson led a band of thieves who robbed banks and the government in the 1990s. He was even accused of giving Rahman $300,000 for a much bigger New York attack on the Washington Bridge, tunnels and government buildings.

Rahman is in prison, and Robertson served four years, but federal prosecutors said he’s training others to kill overseas.

They said Robertson and Jonathan Jimenez committed tax fraud to send Jimenez on a jihad journey from Orlando to Mauritania to kill U.S. military personnel, possibly with a suicide bombing. The FBI said Jimenez was worried they’d all get caught, because he said Robertson wasn’t just talking about the Quran here at the Masjid Al-Ihsaan mosque in East Orange County, ~~~he was talking about the military, and people were bringing weapons and ammunition.~~~~

The FBI said they worked on the plan in Robertson’s East Orange County home and said phone taps and confidential informants show that just months before the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Robertson taught Jimenez to kill officers first and to kill Marines, because they’re “fighters and warriors on the battlefield.”

The feds won’t name the other suspects.

The FBI said Robertson was in a rush to get Jimenez to Mauritania last year, but he was arrested 19 days before Sept. 11, 2011.

More: Prosecutors think man facing terrorism charges has ID’d informant

Federal prosecutors said Robertson, a convicted felon, is telling people the name and description of the confidential informant in the case, and the information comes at a time when prosecutors said there’s a plot to kill the informant.

According to documents, during a recorded call, Jimenez told a confidential government source that Robertson told him “it was permissible or obligatory to kill members of the armed forces, specifically generals” and that Robertson showed him what a general’s stars look like.

Jimenez also was recorded saying Robertson told him suicide bombings were “permissible,” according to documents.

Now, federal prosecutors said Robertson “has in his correspondence from jail identified a confidential source” and spread information about the confidential informant’s identity.

And the obligatory legal jihad being waged, Orange Co. Imam, accused in alleged terror plot, sues Seminole Co. jail

Robertson is suing for $200,000 in damages, said he wants the jail to be closed and demanded a federal investigation.

Robertson said he’s fought off sexual offenders and now sleeps wearing shoes.

He said the lights are too bright too long, but complained about feeling like he’s “underground in a grave” because of what he calls a lack of sunlight.

Robertson claims religious discrimination because he said he’s not allowed to wear his religious cap.

He also said jail guards made discriminating comments.

When asked about the lawsuit, Eyewitness News Legal Analyst Bill Scheaffer said, “Certainly not the first to complain, won’t be the last to complain. You’re not at the Ritz-Carlton. You’re in a secured facility and most of the time, these complaints are found to be petty and baseless.”

I wonder if Obama’s “spiritual advisor”, Joel Hunter (of Northland mega church, Longwood, Fla. -the east side of Orlando) knows this guy. He says he talks to “the enemy”:

Joel Hunter: “I’ve been in conversations with organizations ..like Hezbollah. The enemy is never as scary or threatening up close.”

We’ve developed a consumerist, self-centered culture. That feeds into pre-emptive war because we fear that ‘they’re going to take away what I have.’ Or ‘Government programs are going to take away my hard-earned dollars.’ There are remnants of that now, in right-wing talk radio– Limbaugh, Hannity, Michael Savagejust awful.

Here’s what I think the enemy is: the luxury of being simplistic, of not understanding how complex problems are and how much cooperation is required to solve them. Evangelicals went through a period where we formed homogeneous affinity groups. You cloister together and think everybody else is the enemy. One reason I’m thrilled with Obama’s presidency is that he likes a broad spectrum of perspectives. Out of those he will glean a practical solution good for everyone. He’s got the intellectual capacity to handle the job. I’ve been in conversations with organizations our government can’t even talk tolike Hezbollah. The enemy is never as scary or threatening up close.
