Islam is stuck in the 5th century politically and culturally. They are doing the same stupid things throughout the ages. The word, “backward” comes to mind. Stuck on stupid also comes to mind.

Most fail to recognize the Christian heritage that gave us our individualism, our rights , freedoms and liberties codified in the Magna Carta.

This is something for which the muslim world has no comparison, explaining why they are so backwards.

And we have a backwards muslim driving America..... down the drain. Their hero. Their fraud.

That’s a bit of an insult to the fifth century, which had its highlights—most significantly the retreat of the Roman Empire, especially from Britain. (Opinions of the Hunnic Empire vary, of course.)

The ways of the “religion” in question don’t belong in any century, even the antediluvian ones.

my personal suspicion... it will be done by a hot head dot head. some day, some hindu is going to conclude the assault by muslims is TOO MUCH, and will pursue what he feels to be the karmic equivalent of the 72 muslim virgins. and a muslim holy site will get completely wiped out.

Much of the positive contributions of Islam have come from Sufism - the people who built the mausoleums an mosques that are being destroyed. In India, a “golden age” was overseen by Sufi rulers. In that instance as in this one all the contributions were ground to dust mixed with blood by Islamic fundamentalists.

That’s an interesting thought. I do think it’s more likely to not come from the west. I wouldn’t be surprised if it took several more decades.

The departure of the Romans from England was a highlight? That was a tragedy. They fell back into chaos, and stopped building roads until the Norman conquest.
The Romans were the best thing to ever happen to those isles.

Islam — a stain on mankind and civilization for 1,400 years. Islam is like a rabid animal that needs to be put down once and for all — permanently.

No, that is quite wrong, and as a part Celt, I must confess to being offended by that. Especially given the purpose that the Romans put paved roads to. (There were always roads, but some people don't regard dirt roads as roads, as it appears.)

The other significant 5th-century event in Britain was the arrival of the Anglo-Saxons.

Indeed. A roman revival would not be a bad thing overall.

I’m not sure regarding the return of the Roman Republic. We have a republic now, such as it is. However if we might dicuss the calling forth of a Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus-like personage from the ‘heartland’ I might be receptive of the idea. I find swearing loyalty and striking the breastplate in salute to the ‘Nero’ we have unspeakable, repugnant and beyond my ability. Cinncinatus? SPQR

Well, I meant the ideal. Power and justice and so on. Not Christian or Judaism for sure, but was strong and powerful for a long time. A great turning point in early history.

“The Romans were the best thing to ever happen to those isles.”

That’s just silly; there is no cultural trace that Rome had even been there. For Ireland/Scotland, Rome never WAS there.

If Latin (or Italian) was the worldwide language of business today, you’d have a point.
