It is all Kabuki Theatre for the dumb and dumber of America that worship the very ground their "Lord and Savior" walks on.

We have seen this kabuki dance before. Obama and the Reps wait until the very last minute to approve a deal. The reason is obvious. When you make it a crisis, you can avoid going thru the normal vetting process for a bill. You eliminate discussion and amendments. An oligarchy makes the decision and you have to pass the bill to learn what is in it.
I am sick of these politicians who create an artificial crisis, resolve it at the last minute with a short term solution that doesn't address the underlying cause, and then expect pats on the back for solving the problem. In the meantime, we continue on an unsustainable spending binge that will inevitably destroy the economy. And most of all, I blame the voters for keeping these politicians in power so they can receive all the benefits the welfare state has to offer. We deserve the government we get.

There is no reason for Obama to return to Washington today except to announce that, after discussing the various budget issues with Congressional leaders by phone over the past week, the basis for a final budget deal has been reached.
For Obama to return to Washington with NOTHING but the intention to continue the futile so-called negotiations he’d been pretending to hold with John Boehner, etc., before his vacation, would be beyond reason.
Is Obama so incapacitated with self-aggrandizing delusions that he thinks the American people are eager to listen to him repeat ad infinitum that the budget negotiations have still not made progress? We’ll know in a few days.

I expect a crummy deal which avoids sequestration.

Ha ha ha. Yes it seems like in the final analysis Mr. Obozo doesn’t want to lose any government employees - after all even RIFed employees get to keep their current pay status for two years after the reduction in force.
Hows that for job security? Believe me not a dime will be saved. The orgy of spend, spend, spend will continue with the Redpublicans as willing enablers.

Michelle probably told him to get lost and he decided to do so, so as not to ruin the kid’s vacation. Michelle and Barack are like oil and water now. Their marriage has been over for months. Michelle’s been absent from many important events.

This is a sure sign the polling has started to flip and more people are going to blame Obama.

If Boehner could grow a set of balls or just rent some for the time it would take to call a press conference, I would suggest this to him. Call a full press conference and just state “President Obama has said he has met us over half way on spending cuts. Well, Mr. Obama the house of Representatives along with what I would estimate to be a vast majority of tax payers would like to see exactly your spending cut proposals in writing. A good place to start would be the federally mandated budget that is supposed to proposed and approved but both the House and the Senate. We have not had a budget approved and voted into law since 2009, the first year you took office. Once we receive the proposed budget we can actually determine exactly how serious you and you fellow democrats are on budget cuts and base the negotiations off of that.”

Boner said in public what I told him privately. I get 800 billion for free. He told people I said that, and for that he will pay. Now how to negotiate in bad faith without being so blatant...hmmmmmmm...make it look like he’s the bad guy....

I just hope that Boehner can wipe the tears away long enough to see that he’s got Obama by the macadamias. The Chicago Man-child wouldn’t cut his vay-cay short if he thought that driving off of the fiscal cliff would poll well for him. Unfortunately, the cowering GOP will probably give in to whatever The One demands.
