The Administration leaked the outline of its plans to the Washington Post. Obama wants a comprehensive law which he is not likely to get from the House. He no doubt will rage against the Republicans, the NRA and the TEA party and test the constitutional limit of executive orders. This will set an interesting tone for the upcoming debate concerning the debt ceiling.

There are more AR-15 type rifles in public hands in the last thirty years than 30-30 Winchesters in the last 110 years.

There is a totally different mood in the country now than when the assault gun law was passed.
I had four brand new Colt H-Bars plus a few others such as HK-91, Egyptian Maadi, and Chinese Poly-darn can’t remember the rest of the word, but they were one of the best AK styles out there.
I was in grad school and needed money. I literally could not sell them without reducing the price to near wholesale.
Now it is a new world. I noticed two gun sellers near here which had an abundance of AR’s of various makes. I checked them both today and they are all sold out. Nothing like that happened before and there hasn’t even been a law passed.
I will say I loaded up on high capacity mags after the last ban sunset ted. I am not going to be caught short again.
If foreign nationals do not have to comply with our immigration laws, I sure as hell don’t see Americans complying with the Democrats’ “gun control” laws. It just isn’t going to happen.
The fact that they are still talking about gun control, in the face of all the guns purchased - even recently - just tells me that they are going to do something REALLY bad.
They should have backed off by now.

No one is going to confiscate weapons. Good grief. The only concern will be the amount of regulation attempted. Thinking there is going to be some horde of military, etc going door to door to take weapons is sheer lunacy.
In 1933 the Reichstag fire was used as a pretext by Hitler to curtail the rights of German citizens including confiscating privately held fire arms. With the Sandy Hook shooting Obama now has his Reichstag fire.
.... Well I dunno ...... I actually thought that this past Federal Election was the start of the great revolution ... the return to a Constitutionally run government. What did we get after the great cry of FREEDOM was ringing from the voices of all who saw the threat that was facing this nation? ...... We saw too many of those mighty warriors staying at home .... and while they stayed in the comfort of their homes...... the nation fell to the socialists.... the same threat that we have sworn to fight since the birth of this nation.
... In short .... I guess you could say that ..... when they come for our guns ..... HOLY CRAP!!!! We are suddenly mighty warriors for freedom!!!! But when they came for our country ...... too many of us yawned and left the task up to the "Other Guy." And I think we all know who that "Other Guy" is ...... It's anybody else but you.
.... So ... I am sure Pat Buchanan meant well and I admire his exuberance by making that statement. But .... you will have to excuse me if I don't believe that there are enough of us left with a belly for an actual revolution.
.... Yes ... there just may be a lot of noise that is comprised of hot air .... but when the actual fight came ..... I would bet that .... too many would just stay home .... and ... yup ...... leave it up to the "Other Guy" to do all of the dirty work.
