People may be able to figure out what you are trying to say but they are still wondering what is the matter with you.

In 40 years of shooting, I've always been able to use context to avoid that confusion. Only with firearms that take chargers and removable magazines is there any reason to be confused at all, and then a very short remediation would cure it.
See I think it is when someone becomes a total A-hole about minor issues that people start to wonder what is the matter with them.
And by the way, when a gun is empty, the shooter is out of cartridges and out of bullets.
