The one identified victim is Gregory Griego, who volunteered and worked in a jail drug treatment program called New Path Ministries for 13 years.

Absurd. All I ever hear is the AR and M4 style weapons chambered in 5.56mm are ineffective and underpowered.
I’m willing to bet that the perp was on some kind of prescription anti-depressant, but if that turns out to be true look for the government, the AMA and the pharmaceutical industry to bury it.

Which has yet to be determined was used in this shooting. And oh, by the way, no rifles were used in the Sandy Hook shootings - little tidbit the media seems to forget to mention when talking about Sandy Hook in relation to "assault rifle" bans.
At least the shooter won’t become famous(infamous) because his name will be withheld since he’s a minor. Well, at least until they decide to try him as an adult. By then people won’t care so much about who he is or why he did it, they’ll just want him convicted and sent away forever.
Any bets he came from a Democrat household? That seems to be the pattern these days.
We don’t let children be children any more, but we also don’t help them to grow up.
Children are never supposed to show anger, aggression, competitiveness, etc. so they are not taught how to deal with any of it. A couple of boys having a scuffle to settle differences or oh my goodness a fist fight is just not allowed and the consequences are serious, even if attacked one is not supposed to defend themselves.
Children are sorted and labeled and those that don’t follow the liberal idea of a child are often given mind altering drugs- for years; then after they are addicted when they reach adult age the drugs are often simply taken away.
If the child does have very real mental issues it is very hard to get real help for their issues, or next to impossible to separate them from society if they are dangerous because that would violate their rights. The same is true of adults with mental issues as well. Again mind altering drugs are handed out as the solution.
Children are raised to receive and not to give, most are not taught adult coping skills, work ethic, morals to guide their professional and personal life.
At a certain point all of this creates a perfect storm in some people and the reaction is totally over the top.

Looks to be an “assault musket”, except that it has no bayonet. The things were only good for massed Volley fire, but could be reloaded more quickly than contemporary rifles, which were mostly used for shooting officers on the other side, and the Colonials used more of them than the Regulars, at least early on. Because they had them, and the regulars did not. But you had to shoot and scoot, because they took a long time to reload, you had to pound the bullet down the bore with a rod and mallet. They often did NOT have bayonets. Technology changes.
