Their original public statement made a point of what big backers of the 2A they are just before announcing the decision proving they weren't any such thing.

This latest “postponement” doesn't even give the 2A lip service, but rather presses the Elmer Fudd line that they are big advocates of hunting (with rocks maybe).

My guess is that they actually think that they can reflect blame back on the exhibitors. Its smug, unapologetic, BS. I certainly hope that this effects their ability to land any such shows, anywhere in the future.

You mean a realist?

I saw the same comments on Obamacare (never pass, don't have the votes!), the election, the fiscal cliff, etc.

The GOP doesn't have the will to fight. And even if they did, they get out played at every turn.

Answer this. In the last 18 months, when has the GOP stopped Obama?

They are going to ban guns, and they will send the military door to door to do it if needed. A bunch of old guys on the Internet won't stop anything.

Call the NRA, call your congressmen. Maybe I am wrong. But you need to step out of the echo chamber and look at what is going on. Bush WANTED to ban guns. Romney DID ban guns. And you think, right at the time the GOP is looking to shred its conservative base, they will stand firm and STOP a gun ban?

Agreed. Unfortunately in my neck of the woods a lot of older gun owners are also former union or government workers and don’t trust Republicans. They wear blinders in regards to he present-day dem party, too. I suspect that this is true in a lot of places.

“Hunting and fishing traditions” - is NOT what the Second Amendment is about. Too bad Reed is so damned uncomfortable with the Constitution!!!

I was just thinking about that. There is a guy in my neighborhood who is a die-hard hunter and gun affectionado. I know he has several semi-auto rifles and shoots at all hours of the night. Not a problem as we are in a very rural area.

He is also a die-hard Obama supporter. He drinks the Obama Kool-aide and spits it out daily. This guy is certifiably nuts. Killed his dog by punching it in the head. Shot another of his own dogs when a neighbor complained that the dog was always in their yard. How he can spurt such illogical, irrational Democrat statements and keep his head in the sand is beyond my comprehension. (He is also a government employee!!!)(No, Not the post office!!!)

This is common in Pennsylvania.

I believe the only association with Soros by Progressive Insurance is the Liberal owner of Progressive Insurance Peter Lewis is a friend/associate of Soros, and often puts his Liberal monies to work in concert with Soros direction.

Correct; I could have worded it better. According to another link, Soros matches contributions from Lewis.

Donations
America Coming Together and MoveOn.org (with George Soros matching his $10 and $2.5 million, respectively)

NRA boycott kills outdoors show that banned assault weapons

Typical liberal misinformation/propaganda in that story. Lots more than just the NRA boycotted the show that lead to the cancellation. And the number of exhibitors pulling out were between 300 and 400 (vs. his number of 170. And he just had to remind everyone that assault weapons were used in Newtown.

They are creating a wedge between gun owners.

I disagree. Most of the vendors that dropped out prior to postponing the show did not sell the magazine or rifles that they banned. Heck, many of them didn't sell or associate with guns at all. There were archery only suppliers that dropped, boat manufactures, etc.

I would say they helped bring together people who support the 2nd amendment, regardless of the sport of their choice.

Ugh, sounds like a monster. I have zero respect for people who are cruel to their animals. Typical hypocrite dem voter. I suppose he is in it for the free sh*t. That is common in rural areas (I'm in one here...there's lots of melanin-challenged Obamaphone users out in the cornfields).

My grandfather was typical of the older mindset. He seemed like a model conservative: never took a dollar that he didn't earn, loved guns and hunting and had a string of proftable small businesses. But he was an old union man that would still get weepy-eyed if someone on TV mentioned JFK and he HATED Republicans. He blamed them for everything that in his opinion had ever gone wrong in America: union-busting, war profiteering, desegregation, women's lib and (Russian) bear-baiting. He still called Stalin "Uncle Joe" and thought that Reagan was crazy. He lived long enough to vote for Clinton in '92. I took him some materials from a Young Democrat club extolling Clinton's position on gun control, race and whatnot...he tore them up and threw them away. He just wouldn't believe any of it. He died thinking that Clinton was the second coming of JFK. I can't imagine what he'd think of Obama. But I bet he'd have found some way to justify voting for him.

“He lived long enough to vote for Clinton in ‘92. “

I see his mental capacities were diminishing prior to his passing.... Sorry.. Couldn’t resist!

LOL. I loved my grandfather, but you aren't wrong.

To my knowledge he never voted for a Republican and he never owned a car other than a Ford. He'd die all over again if he saw the imports that the whole family drives now.

And 20+% is not a "small percentage".

Exactly. At last count it was >25% and we're talking high dollar vendors. They weren't going to be there to sell beef jerky.
