Yes.
I identify early 2008 as the time when the MSM moved from “liberal bias” to “full partner” with the progressive coalition.

Amen!

Never was. That point needs to be driven home hard.

Just imagine that you are a Revolutionary veteran, returned to the homestead after the Conflict. You were issued an M-1776 flintlock complete with scary bayonet by the Continental Army, and left the weapon you carried with the unit armory as you returned home to the plot of land and your family in PA.

As things congeal post-war, are you:

1. Concerned with your right to continue hunting rabbits and squirrels or grouse?

2. Concerned that soldiers of some various militia or organized army might commandeer your farm and goods?

3. So comfortable with the new word-of mouth developments that you wish to cheerfully disarm and trust a fledgling government?

4. Seeking out your own M-1776 complete with bayonet so that you and your homeboys never get caught pants down again?

Many people seem to think this is all water under the bridge. If it weren’t for the privateers we’d have lost. The citizens must retain arms sufficient to resist the government, wayward militias, criminal and pirates and any other threat to freedom.

Oh yea, we want to shoot ducks too.

So, today, having seen the handwriting on the wall, or the tea in the harbor as it were...

Just that. God help us if it comes to Lexington and Concord, but it's looking an awful lot like it.

It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing.

And here is the cultural disconnect. An emotional reaction to political bullying and government oppression is precisely what we are seeing here and it is not only entirely justified, it turns out to be more widespread than our putative betters assumed. It isn't simply a "small percentage", it affects everyone, even people who do not own firearms but hold dear the notion that the government cannot do anything its current employees desire.

One wants to plead, "Don't go here," but progressive statists are drawn to the issue like moths to a flame. I don't see this ending well.

I call BS. The decision was made solely for one reason: political correctness.

They made a bad decision.

Then they compounded it by lying about why they did it.

That needs to be an expensive proposition.

Article title:
“A Cultural Misunderstanding: The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show…”

OK, I’ll accept that it was a “cultural understanding” by Reed Exhibitions.

Live and learn. Now, get lost. And don’t come back.

(Didn’t you guys learn anything from that “cultural misunderstanding” back around 1776?)

And then they chose to dig in their heels, flip us off, etc., and thus compounded their problem.

They may FOAD.

The vote hasn't been cast yet. The debate hasn't started yet.

I am certain the GOP will cave, and many on this site will cheer, because Obama will offer something on spending for a weapons ban.
