Exactly. You have air bags, seat belts, homeowners and life insurance, smoke detectors, co detectors, etc etc. Most of us will never need them (thankfully). Yet we have them because if you do need them and don’t have it... The consequences are terrible. Same thing with being prepared to defend yourself and your loved ones and neighbors. I think it is foolish and negligent not to be armed.
Many things are mandated by government to keep you safe, it’s ironic that the government wants to take something away from us that keeps us safe. It’s probably because firearms can keep us safe from government.
