EU threatens to punish Norway for breaching EEA agreement

Norway is failing to live up to its obligations as a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), including imposing extra taxes on EU products and not implementing more than 400 directives, according to an EU report to be published later this year. …

Moreover, the EU also dislikes the fact that Norway has rejected several directives coming from Brussels. The Norwegian government has for example warned it won’t implement the EU’s postal directive about competitiveness for letter mail weighing less than 50 grams. …

So much for any “freedom” from being part of the European Economic Area. For the record, “directive” is synonymous with dictate or decree.

Norway is proof that Free Trade does not work...and the claims often pushed by Free Trade Communist Globalists are bogus.

Norway enjoys the highest standard of living in the world...and does so with the highest tariffs and trade restrictions in the world. Its cost of living is high, but their high per capita GDP more than makes up for it.

The EU is in a snit because it needs Norwegian oil to keep from being totally dependent on Islamic states and Russia/Former Soviet states. It can whine and bellow...but Norway has them by the nads

Also, Norway has the highest Sovereign Wealth fund in the world....higher than the Middle Eastern states. They can hunker down against EU for a long time....much to the consternation of EU and Free Traders everywhere
