First kidnapping has been a federal crime for many years. That is why the FBI was there. It was their job.
Second your point about the military does raise a point. However did you stop to think about the media circus this event became. I can gaurantee there were hundreds, if not thousands, of media personnel involved in this. That creates traffic jams, crowd congestion, and general chaos. Remember this was a small community with little manpower. I would think it was simply overwhelmed in trying to handle the logistics of the situation. So I have to assume they asked for help from the state level and the Governor assigned some National Guard troops to help with crowd management.
While you see a portent of military control in this I would think it is simply one of handling a crowd with available resources. No big conspiracy.
That said I do agree in some part with your concern about militarization of the police in the future. But in my mind this incident was not a part of that.

You know, you're exactly right. Absolutely no argument. I also do not want to hear ANY "message" from the government anymore about anything when they support welfare fraud, illegal immigration, pro-abortion, shipping arms to criminals, gay rights in "...every institution and all walks of life." and forced choices on healthcare which will cause me and my family severe financial duress while leaving us with very little healthcare. The government spends millions in foreign countries on God-knows-what while refusing to fund worthwhile projects here including armed guards in schools.
The government has killed and is going to kill far more people through its policies than Jimmy Lee Dykes in his insanity did. You are exactly right on target about not wanting to hear any message from someone with whom you so vehemently disagree both through violation of governmental and moral law. I applaud you.

We aren’t talking about govn’t. I was referring to YOU saying about the kidnappers message. I responded in kind. I was not talking about a government message. In this instance, they did their job and they did it well. If you want to go off about govn’t message then I will address that. But you only mentioned the kidnappers message. I responded.

No. I don’t put too much stock in anyone who does what He did.
Not sure if true, but some media reported initially that Adam Lanza was pulled out of school by him mom and was then home schooled. True? Don’t know.
I had to tell one of my friends today to STOP and think about why they needed 200+ heavily armed guys from local police, Sheriff's department, state police, US Marshals office, FBI, ATF & local SWAT teams to contain and take down ONE 65-year-old guy. That's not including the helicopters, armored vehicles and the scads of earth-moving equipment.
Freepers sometimes have tunnel vision on the subject, as you saw from some of the replies to your post.
