“...why is the left attacking w? Wouldn’t they agree with w, if what you say is correct.”

They attack W because he is a Republican, not because he is a conservative. You’re presumption that republican = conservative is false. How can anyone read and post at this site and not understand such a simple distinction?

you could get zotted for criticizing Bush and Rove

In 2000 and 2004, you sure could, on certain issues. And immigration was one of the third-rail issues. People would start calling amnest opponents "racists" and "nativists", and before you knew it, they'd be branded as Storm Front rejects and sent packing to TOS.

You sound very bitter. Do you ever wonder if there at least some things whether republican or conservative that are comparable? I want conservative leaders but until the republican party gets rid of rinos it won’t happen.Until there is a news presence that is not biased against conservatives, there will be problems.

Yes, I am bitter about the republican betrayal of conservatism. I registered out of the party in the 90’s when the republicans had control of Congress, raised taxes and grew the size of government just like democrats. Republican politicians say one thing and do another on a pretty consistient basis. I stopped being fooled by their lies a long time ago. You should too.

This last election cycle, republicans were openly hostile to conservatives and made it VERY clear that they don’t want conservative votes. They did not get mine and never will again unless they EARN my vote by putting up pro-life, anti-gay marrage, fiscally conservative candidates - period. The days of “hold your nose and vote” are long over for me.

There may be some overlap between republicans and conservatives, but the republicans have stabbed conservatives in the back so many times that I can no longer trust the republican “leadership”. They lie. They’ve taken a once great party and turned it into a mini-democrat party.
