What a weird fantastical connection, and inflating of a rock concert and of an ex-con’s teeny little crime cult.
Altamont: a guy pulls a pistol on a gang of Hell’s Angels and gets dropped like a sack of dirt.
Didn’t Manson try out for The Monkees?
Perhaps you’re right. I admit to quite an imagination. But, I recall Altamont was marketed and heavily promoted as the west coast’s answer to the wildly successful Woodstock—y’know, free love, dope and understanding; then the murder, Hells Angels etc., and some people woke up; including the Stones.
As to Manson’s teeny little crime cult, I have a dear friend who “communed” at Parker Ranch who says it was not so teeny, and that Charlie had (and still has thanks to gov. Moonbeam) a popular following. Kenneth Anger palled around with Charlie and Tex, and Susan Adkins palled around with Charlie and Anton Lavey.
Dorner’s Manifesto reads like the nonsense written 40 years ago by one of Satan’s minions.
My 2 cents. YMMV.
