Deadly force is authorized to stop someone fleeing from a murder rape etc.
That is what the law says.
Dorner murdered a woman and her guy.
They were unrelated to the beef he had with teh LAPD other than the woman was the daughter of a cop.
Dorner was fleeing prosecution of that and showed a willingness to shoot first.
People are forgetting his innocent victims here in a rush to condemn the officers.
There are no heroes in this story.
There were several departments/jurisdictions on scene.
Quoted up to 2000 officer sin teh area plus at least one SWAT team.
But whose SWAT team?
It would be whoever the SWAT belonged to that one should question about the incendiaries.
I get all that, but my question was, did the cops know there was no one else in the cabin or were they content with dealing with "collateral damage?"
I'm given to understand that the LAPD helicoptered in their SWAT team.
Perhaps they thought it was proper to take out their own trash.
Perhaps the wanted to insure Dorner never got to sit on a witness stand.
In any event according to the police scanners they burned the cabin down "AS PLANNED".
The plan was made before they even got there to assess the situation for themselves.
