The most disheartening event in the country this week wasnt the State of the Union address, though that was certainly ugly enough.
And it wasnt the finale of the Chris Dorner rampage, which was certainly horrific enough in its waste of human life.
From the standpoint of the picture it paints for us of America circa 2013, its the reaction to Dorner.
The reaction of the Left to Dorner is hideous enough. Its personified by the vapid, disgusting and degenerate Marc Lamont Hill, who finds deep meaning and excitement in Dorners senseless mayhem and unhinged online ramblings
If you look for more Dorner fanboys on the Left, youll find them. Well not belabor that; there isnt much new there. As Andrew Klavan noted earlier this week, leftism is a philosophy of violence and it has been ever since Rousseau belched it forth from his spleen.
Whats worse, whats worst, is that Dorner has his fanboys on the Right.
We now see people calling themselves members of the Tea Party who echo some of the same sentiments the Marc Lamont Hills of the world are bleating.
These sound a bit more sophisticated than the mind-numbingly stupid defense of Dorner as an anti-establishment superhero who satisfies an onanistic, Bill Ayers-esque fantasy about killing cops. But theyre just as ugly.
The Tea Party and we use this description very guardedly defenses of Los Angeles newest cop-killer are that by tracking him down, cornering him and ultimately (we think) bringing about his fiery demise at Big Bear Lake, law enforcement violated Dorners 4th Amendment and 6th Amendment rights.

What people on the “right” has made him a hero? name them
Scroll through some threads here. While they aren’t overt, they sure do sympathize with his so called war on the LAPD.
No. They didn’t make Dorner a hero, just because they question the police tactics of shooting vehicles and crap
Excellent article...The cold blooded killer scumbag Dorner got exactly what he wanted and deserved. It’s a real shame he killed four people and wounded four people before he was taken out because he refused his due process under the law.
It was a situation that was remarkably MEXICAN in it's aroma!
I haven’t seen anyglorification of dorner anywhere but on the left. What evidence is offered to show that TEA Party members have shown either sympathy or empathy for dorner? I certainly haven’t seen any from Freepers. LAPD is as notorious and infamous as Chicago cops, but I have seen no one here call for their murders.
If wanting our police forces to be non-corrupt and reasonably intelligent when it comes to upholding the law makes us ‘sympathetic’ to an animal like dorner, I would sure like to see the proof rather than read about it from someone who offers little justification for this accusation.
Reactions are contextual.
Dorner didn’t murder everyone he met. Seems he had an agenda.
The LAPD it seems also had an agenda. Shoot everyone and burn the rest.
I agree...His “Rambo” image was blown out of proportion and it seems at least some in the LAPD were scared, thankfully there weren’t more killed and wounded.
Alicia Keys has already recorded a song in tribute the Dorner, it’s called, “This Man is On Fire.”
Exactly .
Thanks Pining_4_TX.
They could have dropped an a-bomb on his ass for all I care. He’s dead, he can’t kill anybody else.
People saying “wait him out” in that situation are the same people who think the cops should just shoot the gun out of the bad guy’s hand, instead of killing him.
...
“This Man is On Fire.”
“Chris P Dorner”
(passing it along CC)
Bill O’Reilly had Marc Lamont Hill on tonight and did not treat him with the deference he usually shows him. (BOR usually acts as if “Dr. Hill” is a great scholar and towering intellect.) He acted pretty ticked off at him for his comments about Dorner.
It was pretty obvious he was a mad man ~ LAPD is incapable of dealing with such people.
Dorner’s dead, got to find new enemies to hate, and if they’re on this side, so much the better, they’re closer!
Yep ... and burning people alive. I question the intelligence of someone who cannot tell the difference between criticism of police tactics and hate/love for a crazy cop killer.
If, however, those accounts are correct, the LAPD's war on Dorner is a red flag for everyone.
They, as evidenced by the fusilade unleashed against two women delivering papers, had decided they were judge, jury, and executioner, and operated in contemptuous violation of the Constitution. (The newspaper ladies weren't even shooting at them).
I'm a fan of the Constitution, not Dorner, and not the LAPD, either.
However, if there was widespread corruption in the department, I'd expect a mob-style hit order to 'just kill the m-f-er', because no one involved would want to take a chance that the lid would be peeled back during testimony in court.
As for the cabin, severely damage a predominantly wood structure and fire pyrotechnic tear gas rounds into the pile, and you can reasonably expect it will catch fire.
"Not knowing" it would cause a fire was the excuse used at Waco, too, after poking flue holes in the building and pumping the it full of CS powder carried in methylene chloride (a flammable liquid used in carburetor cleaner).
When those sworn to uphold the law are so willing to operate in contempt of it, no matter who they are, we should all be concerned.
