I do. I lived mere blocks away.
To This day I have a photo of it hanging on my office wall.
When I saw this thread I immediately thought of it.
Thanks for posting the link.
It was 2 Porsche and a Pickup with a camper in the bed. The Blue Porsche was recovered mostly undamaged, the White one had it’s nose crushed. and the PU was intact.
The lot owner had a crane retrieve the vehicles and had to get a 1Mill insurance policy to cover the work.
Like I said to Shove It, I have an original photo at my desk. I can clearly see the vehicles.
At the time, I lived off Fairbanks Ave just a few blocks away.
I’m guessing this is a house built on a slab?
They generally are down there (water table too high for cellars).
Horrible.
Lived in Tampa for several years. My house was hit by lightening once, causing a fire, and another time a tree fell over on the roof. Didn’t realize it could have been swallowed up by a sinkhole!
Dreadful. Prayers for the poor soul.
Amen.
I owned a Porsche back in those days and shuddered at the pics of those beautiful cars in the crater of that sinkhole. I searched but could not find a clear shot of them to post here today.
