A 22-carat dictator: Robert Mugabe has gold coins minted to celebrate his 89th birthday in poverty-stricken Zimbabwe
Four-tier cake made in his honour at Zimbabwe's state house party
Opposition accuses his party supporters of killing 12-year-old boy
Zimbabwe is one of the poorest country's on Earth, but clearly despot Robert Mugabe doesn't seem to care on his 89th birthday.
The president celebrated it by immortalising himself in freshly minted gold coins and held a lavish party with a giant cake.
Guests, including his wife, first lady Grace, tucked into the four-tier treat made in his honour at the state house before he gave a thank-you speech.
The celebration came amid accusations that Mugabe is losing his grip on a country he has ruled since coming to power in 1980 and resorting to violence.
His party are suspected of being involved in the death of the 12-year-old son of a local official who is supporter of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
Christpowers Maisiri was burned to death while sleeping in a hut with his brothers last weekend in Headlands district, 110 miles east of Harare.

Sweet.
It’s good to be the king.
Mark my words—it will not end well for Mugabe. South Africa should invade and bring down this farce. But that will not happen until a league of Zulus and Whites take over the South African Government and instill order.
Maybe Dennis Rodman will go visit Mugabe and tell him what a great leader he is and how much he supports and admires him.
He’s done a swell job of “spreading the misery.”
Some years back when Mugabe was already in power and inflation had already sent Zimbabwe into a tailspin, when I tried to buy a couple of trinkets at the biggest commercial airport in Zimbabwe, no one working there had the authority to say what the price was at any given time, so nobody was able to sell anyone anything. Yet, the store was open and two young women employed there! Who knows if anyone was authorized to give them their wages. The night before we had paid $24,000 of their dollars for two beers at a local hotel.
I think it was in 2009 that I said to a very respected friend of mine that I believed we were headed toward the fate of Zimbabwe. He said that no, we have too many assets, I wonder if he still says that.
Obama would never lower himself to do any such thing.
His birthday coin will be minted in platinum.
Hopefully, we can survive his tenure in office. We may need a reverse Marshall Plan after he leaves office.

Was your great grandmother’s name “Pollyanna” by any chance?
Seems just like yesterday he got gored by a goat in the gonades...

That should teach him to stay out of the gonades!
I am a pessimist by nature and don’t talk about my grandmother.
