Southwest out of San Diego had a Marine employed at boarding when my son graduated. He told the pilot and they actually called his name and everyone applauded. I laughed, he blushed, but he was very impressed. The Marines do not wear their cammies in public.

AHHhh, my good man, Mr Orwell did not quite say that. He DID say in writing about Rudyard Kipling, that his “grasp of function, of who protects whom, is very sound. He sees clearly that men can only be highly civilized while other men, inevitably less civilized, are there to guard and feed them.” (1942)...but it inevitably is the thought that counts.

Yeah, the young men in Raliegh were always in their service uniform. Most with sharpshooter "medal" proudly displayed.

I used to see lots of camo on Army and Navy coming and going from where I live (near by Fort Lewis. McChord, and Bangor WA). The Air Force guys were always in golf clothes for some reason (llevrok, now running for the door!)

if the libtards refuse tort reform, sue the libtard companies like this. use their own weapons against them.

The fact that all these major companies and large political groups have not sued till sunrise tells me that they are probably playing for the lib team. It makes no logical sense to just roll over and pay the various prices of liberalism with only a token fight. Use the freaking tools in the toolbox.

Or they should just admit they want it.

A bit off topic, but many years back I was in an Elevator at CPAC with Tom Delay (before his Prison days) and four gorgeous Virgin Atlantic Stewardesses who were staying at the same Hotel on their Layover.

Tom and I both complimented the Women on their beauty and their striking Red Uniforms. They were all lovely women with a sense of humor and their accents made it all the better.

Okay, back to the Virgin Airways Gestapo comments.

Sir Richard Branson is nothing if not a smart businessman, and I’d bet a considerable amount this is NOT Virgin policy. I also bet he’ll make it right. He knows that pissing off the military isn’t a good business decision.

This brings to mind the best customer complaint letter (to Sir Richard) that I have ever read. Absolutely hilarious.

Unrelated, I but know I can ask you this.

There’s a trick to remembering which one of the plays that the line “band of brothers” comes from. It’s like “Richard, scene 1, act 2, line 3”. Do you remember that?

Back in the late 70s or maybe the 80s a jet plane was highjacked and flown to Beirut (TWA?). Highjackers killed a US sailor and dumped his body on the tarmac. I don’t know for sure if he was in uniform, but it seemed after that, not many service members wear the uniform while traveling.

I hope she used something more prosaic like “Sod off’’(’’sod, sod it’’ are what Brits use sometime in place of the ‘’f’ word.)

She’s been a Royal Navy engineer since age 17? Quite an achievement!

Later on, the story calls her a “helicopter technician”. In Europe, engineer means more than the contemporary American definition.

In the US, Army engineers are merely the equivalent of construction workers. One can be trained by the Army in four months right out of high school. Why would it be any different in Britain?

Yep.
The name G4S was enough to explain everything.
Brainless morons (maroons) controlled by inept management.
The ability to wear your uniform in public depends on the area you're stationed in.
The County i grew up in, is a Uniform free zone.
The next County across, where i am now, is Uniform friendly.
Rule of thumb: What colour is the voting map?

Sounds like uniform envy. Hers was better looking than theirs. :)

Did I miss something? How are you doing?

Another winter storm approaches for tonight. the good news is that I saw a robin during the week.
