Mark E. Kelly, gun-control proponent and husband to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, recently purchased an AR-15 (an assault weapon, he called it)which he now says he intended as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws. Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at a gun store in Tucson, Arizona

They are frauds in all their concerns.
They posture for power and cash only.
Despite his claims we shall never see any documentation of return or sale.
Never.

Simple. He is an astronaut. That makes him an elite. Like a retired congresswoman or a billionaire.
Geeze give him a break already/S

The comments on his facebook page are quite amusing. I don’t think I saw a single one in support of him.

Precisely. Ask their target audience to define hypocrisy. They don’t even know what it is.

I heard he planned to give it to the police. So that means he made a straw purchase. I also heard that he did it to show how easy it is for anyone to get one. My question to that is what in his background would have prevented his purchase that he would openly say anyone can get one?

I’m sorry but did they miss something in his background when he was vetted by NASA!?
He “knew” he wouldn’t have any problem buying a weapon cause HIS background was squeaky clean.
He’s an idiot, a hypocrite, and he should be ashamed trotting his disabled wife out for every little “pet” project.

If instead of being an astronaut with no misbehaviors on his record he had multiple convictions for violent acts, it maight have been an “illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws”. As is, it is meaningless except to illustrate hypocrisy.
