Portman is conflicted - he wants his son to be happy, but pretending his son will have a normal life will not help the boy avoid his future sadness and misery one bit.
Every homosexual I know suffers from some great burden caused, or manifested by, their sexuality - disease, addiction, depression, violence or extreme promiscuity. Portman can bury his head in the sand, but it won’t change reality one bit.
So true. If we truly love the homosexual child we will grieve for their behavior and pray without ceasing that they turn from their sin. God is faithful.
