All very true. This happened about 20 miles south of me. I've been in that neighborhood and attended social gatherings in those Victorian houses.
But a few blocks away is MLK Blvd. That street and parallel streets such as Norwich go through a seedy neighborhood. The Glynn County Police uses black cops to patrol that area, and I've watched them pull over black kids in their cars. The police keep a lid on that neighborhood.
If you check the police blotter for Brunswick, you'll see that most of the crime is black folks stealing from each other. Burglary is the predominate crime. If you drive down MLK, you'll see a lot of idle blacks loitering around the liquor stores. At night the standard violent crimes will be two black women going at each other because they're both boning the same guy. Prostitution arrests are common in that area at night.
This is a major departure from the way things usually go in Brunswick.
Spent a little time in Brunswick myself. Didn’t live there, just fishing with a friend. Figured there was a MLK Blvd there somewhere but never had the chance to visit. Always enjoyed my time in the area. St.Simons, Jekyl Island, cool little town just North, Darien?
Why in the Hell would anyone, even two punks, think it would be a good idea to shoot a baby? The whole world is going to Hell.
If you lived in the Brunswick area in the 1960s you would have seen the Hanging Tree(Oak) in the median of the highway. A historical marker on said tree read
“ XX were hung from the one limb of this tree in one day. I can’t remember the number or whether it said criminals or pirates.
There is not one major city that I have been to that does NOT have a crime infested MLK blvd..
