Families are banned from wearing photo of the victims in courtroom during killer's retrial

The families of a young couple who were raped and tortured to death have been banned from wearing buttons of the victims in the front row of the courtroom during one of the suspect's retrials.

Senior Judge Walter Kurtz has ruled that if relatives of Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23, wear the badges, they must sit 'two or three rows' behind suspect George Thomas.

If they do not wear the badges, which they have sported at numerous trials for the accused murderers in the past, they can sit at the front of the Knoxville, Tennessee courtroom.

In previous trials, the families have sat directly behind the prosecutors and within feet of jurors, despite wearing the badges, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

But the ruling would mean they have to sit on the defense side of the courtroom, which they see as a horrifying sign of support for the man they believe murdered their loved ones It upset Gary Christian, Channon Christian's father, who said after the hearing he won't sit on that side.

The US MSM seems disinterested...

According to court testimony by Knox County Acting Medical Examiner Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan, Newsom had been repeatedly sodomized with an object and he was bound, gagged and blindfolded.

Newsom was then dragged outside to a set of nearby railroad tracks, where he was shot in the back of his head, neck and back. His body was then set on fire, Mileusnic-Polchan testified.

Christian was also tortured for several hours and sustained injuries to her mouth and genitals. She had been beaten across the head and raped.

Afterwards, bleach was poured over her body and down her throat while she was still alive, in an apparent attempt to destroy DNA evidence.

Christian was then tied up and covered with several bags before she was put in a bin, where she slowly suffocated to death, Mileusnic-Polchan testified.

Unbelievable - is the judge worried that he might hurt the feelings of the MURDERERS?

The rules of criminal procedure to guarantee a “fair trial” have been distorted.

When the defendants are obviously guilty (not most of the time, but common enough), the rules prevent justice for the victims.

And I’ve served on a criminal jury (armed robbery) which acquitted the defendant. I KNOW the state can be wrong, or can fail to prove its case.

The only fair outcome in this case involves a rope (or other modality) and should have happened a long time ago.

It is cases like this that make the killing of Trayvon a travesty.
This was truly a hate crime , No horse dung about a white-hispanic murdering a black creep. These white kids were tortured and murdered, if anyone should be rioting it is whites , and they should be rioting to see this animal hanged from the nearest pole.

These animals were already found guilty, but because of a corrupt judge, are getting to be retried.

The judicial system is a travesty.

You mean that frickin’ case has not been settled yet!?

I would so love to take those monsters out in a field and practice shooting at them! There I said it, I’m an awful human being.

You can be sure during the George Zimmerman trial in my area....there will be lots of Black Ku Klux Klan racists with “Justice for Trayvon” buttons sitting solo close to GZ...and nothing will be done about it...

This ruling in the TN case is just more Black KKK racism

Alleged. They are guilty of nothing at this moment. If it was a sentencing hearing I could see the judge allowing this but not during a hearing....innocent until proven guity escapes you somehow.

Our legal system has become a travesty. We have so much “concern” for criminals, that we place the lives of innocent citizens in danger. And our psychologically strange President wants to take away our means of self-defense.
