President Obama approved a temporary spending bill this week that averted a government shutdown but also riled a slew of groups that say one provision protects Monsanto and other makers of genetically modified seeds and crops from federal courts.

The so-called Monsanto Protection Act essentially requires the Agriculture Department to approve the growing, harvesting and selling of such crops, even if the courts rule environmental studies are incomplete -- undermining the judicial review system and posing potential health risks, critics say.

Dear Leader declares GMOs to be so safe that we do not need any studies before letting the genie out of the bottle.

Is Monsanto also being protected from their contamination of of non-GMO crops through pollination or are the victims going to be forced to pay Monsanto like they are in Canada?

Only problem is the executive or the legislative bodies of government cannot redefine the judicial body without a constitutional amendment.

If the law is true, it’s merely a speed bump and will be slapped down by the judicial branch as soon as it’s tested.

And furthermore, ruled that the judges could not shut down potentially deadly food.

This a$$h9le is now letting Monsanto poison our children. He should be tried for treason along with numerous murder and attempted murder charges.

Now that we have a precedent, we need a similar bill to protect drug makers from predatory lawyers that fish for clients in the waters of cable tv

“Only problem is the executive or the legislative bodies of government cannot redefine the judicial body without a constitutional amendment.”

Congress can indeed define the courts and the parameters of what matters they may judge. I believe the power is defined under artcle III section 3.

If the courts defy the congress and the executive, we’ll see warfare between all three criminal branches of government. Buy your popcorn now.

Congress should forbid judicial review for all laws it passes. The Federal Courts have become lawmakers instead of judges.

According to the article, many key senators were against the rider to the bill, inlcuding the committee chairman, but it never tells us who added the provision.

Things that make you go Huh? What visionary “leader” thought that this is a good idea? I’ll bet 99% of our best and brightest don’t know what genetically modified means. It is also so good and so clean that the trial lawyers can’t touch it. That right there is some fancy gyrating.
