I am referencing Rush... their rules changes and lawsuit threats over injuries have driven a once manly game into being another PC experiment... much like the Military is today. Let the fags become a celebrated class and your beloved NFL will go bankrupt. I will never watch another game for as along as I live... maybe I will be alone in that... but wait... some on this very thread have stated the same.

Btw, do you believe everything that is printed about statistics? I give you as a prime example... the new and improving unemployment rate today. Personally... I trust no one but GOD, Levin, Limbaugh and Malkin.

You’re correct of course.
Look at all the Steeler fans on FR.

To celebrate gays, they would wear Brown shoes.

Sports Business Daily has less of an agenda than Rush (I generally approve of his agenda, but let's be honest, an undeviating right-wing stand is part of his bread and butter).

Are the Steelers thuggier than other teams (asks this Bills fan)? Is the beef Mendenhall's stupid remarks about 9/11?

Their owner contributed so many $$ to Obama they made him ambassador to Ireland. Also the head coach and many former players were big parts of the campaign.

If there were truly no consequences to coming out of the closet in the NFL, why do the players have to be talked into doing it? The answer is obvious.

Yes, let's, especially if a gay player seals a playoff win with an interception or a 30-yard run with under two minutes left.

What happens if the gay player loses the game because he fumbled at the goal line or threw an interception? You don't think the player will be the target of gay slurs from fans? And what about the fans of the other team? It would matter not whether the gay player is the hero or the goat.

Reality is that for most fans, GMs and owners, winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

I suspect that having a gay player will be a headache for any owner. What happens if you want to get rid of him? Will the player claim discrimination? And what about the locker room? Will some players have a problem showering with the gay member of the team?

You can minimize the problems, but human nature and biology are hard to control. Are you gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The NFL and most players KNOW that associating GAY to the NFL brand will DIMINISH it significantly.

This should get interesting in terms of HOW the NFL can avoid getting caught up in the "political correctness" game and GROWING it's NFL name.

Maybe they'll create the GFL. /s

After a short time, any such player will be booed by the fans and benched or cut by the coach, just like a straight player. Any fans who shout anti-gay remarks in the stands will be isolated voices, universally ignored.

And what about the locker room? Will some players have a problem showering with the gay member of the team?

If these players stage this media event, within two years at the outside it will be completely forgotten. It will have no long-term effect on the playing field or in the locker room, and almost none among the NFL's vast and passionate fan base.

What actually belongs to "human nature and biology" has been known to be exaggerated.

Are you gay? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Did you really write that?

I guess it will depend on how much political correctness can be used to subdue the crowd. I must say that political correctness has cowed the American public on almost every thing imaginable so perhaps it will also work in the football stadiums around the country. The gay activists have succeeded in so many areas whether it is marriage, adoption, military service, etc. They have even convinced the ill-informed that being gay is a civil rights issue much like race and ethnicity.

If these players stage this media event, within two years at the outside it will be completely forgotten. It will have no long-term effect on the playing field or in the locker room, and almost none among the NFL's vast and passionate fan base.

Dream on. You sound like those left wing utopians who think they can change and shape human behavior. That is the kind of wooly thinking that empowers and fuels big government and reduces individual liberties. As far as the NFL is concerned, I don't share your rosy view about its future.

What actually belongs to "human nature and biology" has been known to be exaggerated.

Spoken like a true leftist. Sex drive is one of the most powerful emotions--human and animal. I wonder what the reaction would be if a couple of gay teammates were cavorting in the locker room, even if sex was not involved.

Did you really write that?

Yes, I was serious. You didn't answer it. Are you gay?
