Missile Defense is the last line of defense. I think the Korean missiles should be taken out. We aren’t talking about some Iraqi scud missile. They have threatened to use nukes. Don’t give them the chance.

It would not be an unprovoked attack since North Korea has already announced to the world they will attack the US, Japan, and South Korea. Other actions they have taken suggest an attack is possible within days.

A quote from the new and up coming movie Despicable me 2 " don't annouce your weapons before you use them ".

Stupid move by the Dork from Nork.

Then again ? that's all he has in his quiver, for he knows that with any conventional war with South Korea and the USA he is toast.

I guess with all the Saber Rattling he has to compensate for areas where he is lacking.

Go ahead punk the Dork from Nork, God has a few nice sized metorites just aimed at North Korea and Pyongyang.

What about the Mutual Defense agreement between China and NorKor.... We we take out their missiles and we're at war with China.
Not so if the Norks shoot first...

Exactly. The NK missile silos should already be targeted and any 'movement' that gives the appearance of them being armed and ready for release should result in pre-emptive strikes.

Via POWERLINE:
Missile Defense, Then and Now

Readers of a certain age will recall the battles over missile defense that raged during the Reagan administration. Virtually all Democrats opposed all forms of missile defense, deeming the concept not only unfeasible–”like hitting a bullet with a bullet,” as though that were impossible–but destabilizing as well. John Kerry’s denunciations of missile defense were typical: “a dream based on illusion, but one which could have real and terrible consequences,” As recently as 2008, Barack Obama said that he didn’t “agree with a missile defense system” and promised to slash funding for development of such systems. He did, too.

I tend to agree..Many are now concerned that there has been so many threats coming out of NK for almost a month now, how could he ever back down without becoming the brunt of the world’s jokes?

Others believe NK has built up more armaments than has been revealed and NK is becoming overly confident.

My bet is this becomes war soon, or later, but it’s going to happen.

Probably better it happen now, as opposed to later, knowing NK will just continue to escalate their arms build up and harden their defenses.

I agree, but I think this should be used as a behind the scenes threat first. They should be told - privately so that the immature and arrogant little jerk running the country can save face - that we will most definitely take out their nukes and all their missile capabilities preemptively if they don't back off the nuke rhetoric immediately. Also, we should make it clear that we will do the same if there is even a hint of them spreading nukes around to their ideological ‘friends’ in the Middle East and elsewhere.
