Since I just ate, I couldn’t bring myself to read the link to Bashir’s comment that Thatcher embodied “selfishness.” My retort: what on earth did Socialism embody? Good Lord, all he has to do is take a look at the rest of Europe, and see what it had to offer.

I did read some of the comments from Thatcher’s opponents, and they’re not even rational. Even I can see that.

My wife grew up in Britain, and Thatcher was the first person she vote for. Not directly, but she voted for the conservative party. She, my wife, said the unions were strangling the country, and something had to be done.
